WORKING CLASS
- Women in the working class wore simpler, ready to wear versions of the popular fashions but with cheaper materials and lower quality cloth.
- Homemade clothing, including homemade dressmaking, was very common within this class.
- There were certain magazines especially made for people in the working class, such as Mabs.
- Only the richest people were able to afford Paris fashions so many American designers became popular during the 1930s when money was tight.
- There was a very large gap between the upper class and the lower working class. While the upper class was carefree towards spending their money the working class had a different perception on their money. They had to worry about saving their money for important things like wages and living costs, and therefore they could not spend too much of their money on the latest clothing trends.
